The next night he didn't call me, so 1 went to a show
with Burns. Then--Brother!!(My new favorite) things
really started to happed. Burns decided that he wanted to
kiss me, so he did. I was completely helpless, I couldn't
even have gotten my hand free to slap his face. the nearest
thing I can think of to that is being hit be a steam-roller.
I turned and walked into the house, but the next night he
called me. ‘That was last night, Charles had called me and
we were going to the show. He wanted a date, so I asked
Donna Taylor to go with him. She's about 5'10", and
correspondingly heavy,,so I thought she could probably
handle.him. Besides, he had been very nice on the first
date, and werwere going to double date, He kissed her, too,
and her reaction was exactly the same as mine. I wanted to
run right home to “Mommy and hide behind her skirts. I have
hardly dared to look at her all day today.
The show was really cute. It's one I think you and
Dad would really enjoy. It was "Moonlight Bayt. It's
partly a musical, and partly just the story of good old=
fashioned home life. Even to the mean little "Tom Sawyer"
type boy. It was partly adapted from Booth Tarkington's
"Penrod", .
We are going to see "Alice in Wonderland" tonight.
I surely wish that the kids were here so that I could
take them to it. It should really be cute. Disney's
always are, and the previews of this looked even better
than some of the others.
I wish that I could tell you exactly how I feel about
Charles, and I would. He's a wonderful fellow, and it
wouldn't really be hard at all to fall awfully hard for
him. Two things stand in the was. One, of course, is Steve,
I daren't even think what it would do to him, ‘The other is
Charles. I'd actually be afraid to fall for him, I think,
He's been around a little too much for a naive little
country girl like me. He makes good money, and I think he'd
give his wife almost everything she desired. He's extremely
religous, so I'd never have to worrry about that angle, and
that's the one I'm going to be certain of, first and
foremost, because I could never be happy with someone who
would'nt take part in his Church Activities with me.
Tomorrow is stake conference in the Ensign Stake.
Joseph Fielding Bmith is to be the speaker, I wish that I
could be down there to here Brother Cowley speak, I'd much
rather, but I suppose both witl have a message to put over.
Apostle Cowley is a member of our ward.
Well, it's getting late, and this typewriter is getting
so that it won't write a thing, so I'd better stop.
Tell the kids "Hello" for me, and tell Neal to stay out of
trees that ate too big for him from now on.
Charles is here, so I've got to run. So Long.
