Dear Mommie & Dad,
Golly, I've been trying to get
around to this for a long time
now. I was going to write Saturday
night, but I was so tired I could
hardly move. Ruth and I did 51
quarts of peaches—38 quarts and 26 pts.
Charles helped her with the peeling,
and I did the sterilizing and bottling.
It's been so long since I did a good
days work like that, that I could
hardly take it. My legs really
kicked up a fuss. I'll have to do
some real training before I tackle
the narrows. I'd never make it now.
In case you haven't already guessed,
the answer is "Yes." Definitely. I do
love him very much, and I'm sure
his love for me is real. There'll be
disagreements, of course, but I think
that we can be very happy
together.
